Supporting the public sector in Scotland in partnership with IBM

Event: Cloud Computing for the Public Sector

Date: Monday 20th September

Location: Sheraton Hotel, Edinburgh

Details: Delegates will hear from a range of industry and public sector experts on key issues regarding cloud computing: Why is it relevant to the public sector? Can it save organisations money? What about the security of an organisation’s information and that of its service users? How best to choose a provider? Are there examples of best practice? What can Scotland gain from cloud adoption and hosting?

Topics expected to arise include positive aspects as potential cost savings, flexibility and reliability; but also more contentious arguments about environmental impact, transition costs, and the implications for security and data protection legislation.

Sysnet will be exhibiting at this event, demonstrating how its own solutions and those of IBM can make positive differences to any organisation and in particular the public sector. Join Alan Hamilton and Dawn Player from Sysnet any time between 8.30 and 4.30pm. Representatives from IBM will also be on hand to give product demonstrations and provide in-depth information about LotusLive and IBM's recent acquisition, Cast Iron.
