Reed Group select Snagmaster™ for Queens Square Law Courts, Sydney

28/12/2011

Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, the Queens Square Law Courts building accommodates the Commonwealth Attorney General, Solicitor General, Supreme, Federal and High Courts of Australia.

The Reed Group is undertaking a staged refurbishment and upgrade of existing courtrooms, chambers, administration and an entire BCA upgrade of existing plant/equipment and services through-out. The scope includes modification and replacement of the existing precast concrete/glazing facade.
The project operates 24/7 whilst maintaining full uninterrupted court activities and the construction information must be coordinated across 23 shifts to coordinate both procurement and delivery.

With completion dates coming thick and fast due to the phased nature of the works, effective defect management is essential to meeting handover milestones.

To manage this effectively Reed Group has selected Snagmaster as the defect management system for the project.

"We liked Snagmaster because it is simple to use and takes the pain out of the administration" says Craig Lawrence, Project Coordinator, "the software as a service approach and the fact that the sub-contractors can work via the website, or on paper is also a bonus".

Reed Group evaluated Snagmaster for a one month period live on the project before making their choice. "We really liked the digital pens" continues Craig, "it changes nothing for the guys finding the defects - they work they way they have always done. With timescales as tight as these, the last thing I want is guys grappling with new technology".
